The all-round skincare routine

If you are looking for a basic routine that will take good care of your skin without having to put in too much effort, the 5-step routine is the right choice for you. It allows you to enjoy the benefits of Korean skin care even if you are on a tight time budget. Your skin will thank you!

Step 1: Facial cleansing
First, the face should be freed of dirt and cleaned. To do this, a mild cleansing foam is applied and washed off using circular movements. This also stimulates the circulation and blood flow to the skin when cleansing the face.

Step 2: Toner
Next comes a very important product: the toner or "refresher" refreshes and soothes the skin. It prepares the skin for the next care steps and should not be confused with the clarifying facial toners that often contain alcohol and are used more for cleansing the skin in Western facial care. The toner is gently tapped into the skin.

Step 3: Essence/ Emulsion
The essence or emulsion is often referred to as the heart of Korean skin care. It has a light texture and provides a lot of moisture. It prepares the next steps and accelerates the skin's cell renewal. It is massaged in lightly and should be well absorbed. As an alternative to the essence, it is also possible to use a serum.

Step 4: Cream
Of course, face cream is an essential part of your daily skin care routine, as it supplies the skin with all the nutrients and moisture it needs and keeps it elastic. It also provides enough care at night so that the skin can regenerate and the complexion is clear and fresh the next morning.

Step 5: Sun Protection
Unlike us Europeans, Korean women want to maintain a pale complexion and therefore always apply sunscreen at the end of their daily routine. Since the sun's rays contribute greatly to premature skin aging and the formation of wrinkles, this is also highly recommended for us!
